Dixons Carphone fined $39 million for mis-selling insurance

U.K.'s Financial Conduct Authority fined U.K.-based Dixons Carphone P.L.C. about £29 million ($39 million) for mis-selling its Geek Squad phone insurance and support service between December 2008 and June 2015, Reuters reported. The regulator said that the firm's joint venture, The Carphone Warehouse Ltd., trained its staff to recommend the service to customers who already had purchased the cover and failed to investigate customer complaints.
