Brown & Brown buys family entertainment specialist

Brown & Brown of South Carolina Inc. has acquired substantially all of the assets of Cossio Insurance Agency, which focuses on family entertainment and special events services.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Cossio Insurance Agency has annual revenue of approximately $3.5 million and provides insurance programs for family fun centers, paintball, inflatable rentals and other unique risks, Daytona Beach, Florida-based Brown & Brown Inc. said Thursday in a statement.

Larry and Marcela Cossio and their staff of about 15 will continue to operate from their office in Greenville, South Carolina, reporting to Todd Tyler, executive vice president of Brown & Brown of South Carolina Inc. in North Charleston. The operation falls under the responsibility of Mike Keeby, a senior vice president of Brown & Brown Inc., according to the statement.

Brown & Brown Inc. is the world’s eighth-largest insurance brokerage, according to Business Insurance’s latest ranking.
