Qatar rejects Oman Insurance's application to set up branch

Qatar's central bank has rejected U.A.E.-based Oman Insurance Co. P.S.C.'s application to open a branch in the country, Reuters reported. Oman Insurance will be unable to write or sell insurance business in Qatar due to the decision. Qatar and the United Arab Emirates recently accused each other of unfair business practices causing strained ties between the two countries.
