Charles Goldie, CEO for property/casualty for PartnerRe Ltd., is leaving the company as part of a reorganization, the Pembroke, Bermuda-based reinsurer said in a statement Tuesday.

PartnerRe said, effective April 1, the company will reorganize its property/casualty business segments into three regional units —Americas; Europe, Middle East and Africa; and Asia-Pacific — that report directly to PartnerRe President and CEO Emmanuel Clarke.

Mr. Clarke said in the statement that because of these changes the company’s property/casualty business will have a flatter organizational structure, which will increase its agility.

PartnerRe said also Zurich-based Philippe Meyenhofer, who is now deputy CEO, property/casualty, and head of Property/Casualty Europe, will lead the company’s Europe, Middle East and Africa unit.

James Beedle, who is based in Singapore and will continue as head of Property/Casualty Asia-Pacific and CEO of Partner Reinsurance Asia Pte. Ltd., will also assume executive responsibility for PartnerRe’s global clients and broker management unit.

The Americas division will be led by a newly appointed executive for whom a search is now underway, while Jon Schriber, head of structured risk North America, will assume responsibility for the Property/Casualty North America unit in the interim

The company also said Zurich-based Greg Haft, who has been deputy CEO of special lines and has led its property, marine and energy unit since January 2018, has been appointed CEO for specialty lines.

Mr. Clarke, who is based in Zurich, thanked Mr. Goldie for his contribution to the company over the past 17 years. A spokeswoman said in a statement the company did not have any further comment to make.
