Hilb Group acquires Massachusetts agency

The Hilb Group LLC on Tuesday said it acquired Massachusetts-based Marsh-Kemp Insurance Agency Inc. on March 1.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Marsh-Kemp offers several personal and business insurance options, Richmond, Virginia-based Hilb said in a statement. Agency leader Thomas McLear continues to lead his staff of 18 out of existing locations in Worcester and Auburn, Massachusetts.

Hilb Group is the 39th-largest broker of U.S. business, according to Business Insurance’s latest ranking.
