BMW, Daimler, Volkswagen could face fines for emission collusion

German automakers BMW A.G., Daimler A.G. and Volkswagen A.G. are likely to face fines after the European Commission decided to make a formal complaint related to diesel emissions collusion, Automotive News Europe reported citing sources. Files from the public prosecutor's offices in Braunschweig and Munich showed that the automakers colluded on exhaust emissions and warned each other to withhold details from the authorities.
