Brazilian reinsurers' premiums decline marginally

Data from Brazil's insurance regulator showed that local reinsurers' premiums slipped 2.3% to approximately 7.6 billion Brazilian ($2 billion) real in 2018 from 2017, Segs.com reported. IRB-Brasil Resseguros S.A.'s revenue totaled BRL 4.2 billion, accounting for more than 55% of total revenue in the reinsurance sector.
