Mass strikes likely to cost businesses more than $400 million

Experts said that the Feb. 13 workers' strike in Belgium is likely to cost local businesses about €360 million ($407 million), The Brussels Times reported citing sources. The stoppage is expected to cost The Brussels Airport Co. S.A./N.V. up to €13 million after Brussels Airlines N.V./S.A. canceled all of the day's 222 flights. Workers throughout the country were unable to commute to work after public transport operators suspended services due to the strike.
