Insurer to write 40% of business from Irish unit post Brexit

Ship insurer The Standard Club U.K. Ltd. plans to write about 40% of its business through its new Irish unit post Brexit, The Irish Times reported. The insurer set up The Standard Club Ireland D.A.C. to maintain access to its European clients post Brexit. Several insurers including The North of England Protecting and Indemnity Association Ltd., Bermuda-based XL Group Ltd. and Hiscox Ltd. have set up units in Ireland to prepare for Brexit.
