Catastrophes hit Brit Insurance, losses total $181 million

U.K.-based Brit Insurance Holdings Ltd. recorded $181 million in losses in 2018 driven by catastrophe-related claims across the world, Evening Standard reported. The insurer's catastrophe bill totaled about $207 million, with typhoon Jebi in Japan accounting for $26 million and hurricanes Michael and Florence in North America accounting for $83 million.
