Argo switches gears to risk originator for third party capital

Bermuda-based Argo Group International Holdings Ltd. has retained its reinsurance structure this year under which the reinsurer cedes risk more to third-party capital partners, Artemis.bm reports. Argo has shifted its strategy to underwrite more risks for third-party investors through quota shares and insurance-linked securities. Mark E. Watson III, chief executive of Argo Group, said that the reinsurer has made the transition into a risk originator on behalf of third-parties.
