Germany restricts Facebook's data collection activities

Germany's Federal Cartel Office is restricting U.S.-based Facebook Inc.'s collection of user data after a ruling that the social media giant abused its market position, DW.com reported. Under the ruling, the company will be able to use data from various non-Facebook programs and apps that it owns, only with explicit user consent.
