Thailand seeks temporary closure of factories to combat pollution

Prayut Chan-o-cha, prime minister of Thailand, said that the government is seeking temporary closure of some factories after air pollution spiked in Bangkok, National Post reported citing Bloomberg. Thai officials shut 437 schools in Bangkok on Jan. 31 due to increasing smog levels. Officials said that exhaust fumes, industrial emissions, construction dust, rubbish burning and smoke from rural regions have contributed to the pollution.
