Protection gap continues as large cat losses grow: Willis Re

U.S.-based reinsurance broker Willis Re Inc. said that Asia continues to face a large protection gap despite several catastrophes causing billions of dollars worth of damage in the region in 2018, Asia Insurance Review reported. Hui Yen Tai, an official at Willis Re, called on insurers and reinsurers to partner with governments in the region to mitigate catastrophe-related losses.
