Willis Re appoints executive

Willis Re, the reinsurance business of Willis Towers Watson PLC, has appointed Brian Shea to be managing director and head of strategic and financial analysis for Willis Re International, the brokerage announced Thursday.
Mr. Shea, who was hired in 2015 from French reinsurer Scor SE to head the brokerage’s London-based investment banking arm Willis Towers Watson Securities Europe, took up the newly created role Jan. 1 and reports to Willis Re International CEO Tony Melia in London.
At Willis Re, Mr. Shea will advise clients on strategic and capital management issues, working closely with the existing financial advisory, rating agency and regulatory team, the brokerage said in a statement.
A Willis Towers Watson spokeswoman said Mr. Shea will focus on developing Willis Re’s structured life, nonlife and alternative market offerings.
