Small businesses clueless about GDPR rules, risk facing stiff fines
Posted On: Dec. 14, 2018 4:35 AM CSTA survey by U.K.-based insurance broker Aon P.L.C. found that half of small business owners are clueless about the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation, leaving them at risk of stiff fines, The Independent reported. More than a quarter of firms allow staff to use their own computers, tablets and phones which contravene EU rules and could lead to loss of customers' personal data. Nearly 45% of businesses did not have any insurance whatsoever to protect them against cyber or data risks.
