Analysts said that the arrest of Meng Wanzhou, chief financial officer of Chinese telecom giant Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., and a potential U.S. ban on the company could disrupt global technology supply chains, The Independent reported. Analysts said that telecom carriers across the world are looking to spend billions of dollars on equipment for fifth-generation wireless technology. A ban on Huawei would affect U.S.-based technology giants Microsoft Inc., Intel Corp. and Qualcomm Inc. and disrupt the world's 5G system.
