Swiss Re Corporate Solutions names North America E&S leader

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions Ltd. on Wednesday said it has named Daniel Vetter as head of excess and surplus for North America, effective Jan. 1.

In this newly created position, Mr. Vetter will be responsible for the strategy and growth of the unit’s excess and surplus property/casualty business and for establishing financial and professional lines, the Swiss Re Ltd. division said in a statement.

He is based in New York and will report to Ivan Gonzalez, CEO of North America for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, the statement said.

Mr. Vetter joined Swiss Re in 2000 and was most recently head of casualty.

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions announced the formation of its stand-alone excess and surplus business in April. 

“Creating our stand-alone E&S unit less than a year ago, I'm confident that Daniel’s leadership and perspective will help us steer our growth within E&S Property and Casualty and fully build our Financial & Professional Lines offering,” Mr. Gonzalez said in the statement.
