Oil firm loses $200,000 a day due to severed pipeline

Canadian oil company Frontera Energy Corp. has stopped production at Peru's largest oilfield in Loreto after a pipeline was severed by indigenous protesters, Reuters reported. Petroleos del Peru Petroperu S.A. said that the disruption could cause an estimated $200,000 in losses per day.
