Farmers spooks viewers into considering life insurance

Call it The Running Dead.

Farmers Insurance Group is trying to utilize both the zombie craze, as demonstrated by the hit AMC television show “The Walking Dead” – currently in its 9th season, and the timing of Halloween – the best holiday by far – to run a series of advertisements encouraging people to purchase life insurance.

In one of the advertisements called “Cardio of the Dead,” a zombie lumbers down a running path at a park, talking about the inevitability of death and why life insurance is so important. The zombie utters the famous Farmers motto: “We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.” So have the human joggers in the ad.

In another ad called “Downward Sphinx,” a zombie is doing yoga surrounded by other yoga devotees who are seemingly unbothered by the zombie in their midst. Clearly, yoga does wonders for the mind and body.

“Rest in peace of mind this Halloween,” the advertisements all end.

Sadly, there’s no Negan character to really spook the audience.
