Central bank raises security alert after Axa suffers cyber attack

Mexico's central bank has raised the security alert level in its payment system after insurer AXA Seguros, S.A. de C.V. suffered a cyber attack on Oct. 22, Reuters reported. Axa said that it experienced "inconsistencies" in the cash payment system, however the attack did not affect clients' information and other resources. The central bank said that some institutions would operate through an alternative mechanism as a precautionary measure.
