Zurich North America names commercial insurance casualty leader

Zurich North America on Monday said Valerie Butt has been named head of casualty for its commercial insurance business.
Ms. Butt, who most recently served as global head of customer, distribution and market management for commercial insurance, will assume her new duties Tuesday. She succeeds Brandon Fick, who was named chief underwriting officer for Zurich North America last month.
Ms. Butt will be based in Chicago and will report to Paul Horgan, head of Zurich North America commercial insurance.
Ms. Butt was named one of Business Insurance’s Women to Watch in 2010
