FM Global launches cyber risk assessment tool

FM Global said Monday it has introduced for its policyholders FM Global Cyber Risk Assessment, a new cyber risk assessment tool for policyholders that will help clients measure their overall cyber security resilience.

A spokeswoman for the Johnston, Rhode Island-based insurer said in a statement the tool is a user-friendly, secure online portal where clients answer a series of questions that help them evaluate their company’s governance, insider threat management, IT security and response capabilities. 

She said it was created to help risk managers bring disparate parts of their organizations together, to review physical security, information security industry controls and business systems.

FM Global said in its statement that beginning in 2019 the tool will also assess industry control systems and the client’s ability to defend against malicious attacks on building systems, process control and equipment due to their increased network connectivity.
