Super typhoon barrels toward Philippines, Hong Kong

The United Nation's global disaster alert and coordination system said that super typhoon Mangkhut is likely to cause heavy rains and storm surges in the Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong and south China, Bloomberg reported. Emmanuel Pinol, the Philippine's agriculture secretary, said that the typhoon could cause up to 13.5 billion Philippine pesos ($250 million) worth of damage to crops.
