Allianz to offer cryptocurrency-based insurance service

Germany-based insurer Allianz S.E.'s Chinese unit and ecommerce company JD.com Inc. have partnered to develop a cryptocurrency-focused insurance service, Bitcoin Exchange Guide reported citing sources. Allianz is likely to introduce a blockchain-based insurance product, the sources said. JD.com recently acquired a 30% stake in Allianz China General Insurance Co. for $71 million.
