European Union fines Google over Android policy

European antitrust regulators fined Google L.L.C. €4.34 billion and ordered it to stop using its Android mobile operating system to block rivals, Reuters reported. The European Union said that Google has forced manufacturers since 2011 to pre-install Google Search and its Chrome browser with its Google Play app store on Android devices and to block rival systems. Google risks additional penalties of up to 5% of average daily global revenue for further non-compliance.
