Marsh appoints cyber executive

Marsh L.L.C. has named Kevin Richards to the newly created position of global head of cyber risk consulting, the broker said in a statement Monday.

He joins Marsh from Accenture P.L.C., where he most recently led the consultant’s North America security practice and its global security strategy and risk practice, the statement said.

Mr. Richards will be based in Chicago and report to Michael Poulos, president of Marsh risk consulting and global head of client advisory services, the statement said. The appointment was effective June 29, according to a spokeswoman.

Mr. Richards will lead the strategic development and delivery of Marsh’s cyber risk consulting business worldwide together with regional and local cyber risk experts and Marsh’s cyber insurance brokerage teams, the statement said.

“Kevin brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in information security that will enable us to advise our clients on solutions and strategies needed to meet the rapidly evolving cyber risk landscape,” Mr. Poulos said in the statement.
