Protection measures cut hurricane losses: FM Global

U.S.-based insurer FM Global Group said that every $1 a business spends on hurricane protection reduces catastrophe-related loss by an average of $105, Middle East Insurance Review reported. The insurer said that organizations should have backup power generators, conduct rooftops inspections and strap vulnerable objects to minimize storm-related damage. Businesses that invest in response measures experience nearly 70% less damage and resume operations sooner, FM Global added.
