Aon launches intellectual property coverage

Aon P.L.C. launched an intellectual property liability insurance product Tuesday.

The coverage includes primary limits up to $100 million per policy, which is written on a claims made basis. Coverage options are offered for third-party infringement defense, including certain litigation costs, damages and loss mitigation.

Aon declined to disclose which insurer or insurers supported the policy.

The launch follows the recent formation of Aon’s intellectual property solutions group and the acquisition of intellectual property law firm unit 601West.
