AF Group expands into commercial auto

AF Group said Tuesday it is expanding into commercial auto insurance with the establishment of managing general underwriter Fundamental Underwriters to provide coverage for accounts with specialty risks.

Fundamental Underwriters writes primary commercial auto and physical damage through Third Coast Insurance Co., Lansing, Michigan-based AF Group said in a statement.

Based in Chicago, Fundamental’s initial interest is in trucks plated in Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Virginia. It writes more than $2 million in commercial trucking premium, according to the statement.

Fundamental Underwriters is led by Rob Westburg, AF Group said in the statement.
