Fewer major hurricanes expected in Caribbean, North Atlantic

Several weather forecasters have toned down their forecasts for major hurricanes in this year's Atlantic hurricane season due to cooling of sea surface temperatures in the North Atlantic and Caribbean Sea, Artemis.bm reports. The Colorado State University's tropical weather forecasting team has lowered its forecast to 14 named storms, six hurricanes and two major hurricanes from 14 named storms, seven hurricanes and three major hurricanes.
