Brit adds to US professional liability team

Brit Ltd. has named Jim Kelly as assistant vice president, construction professional to bolster its Brit Global Specialty USA professional liability team.

Additionally, Tom Rea joined the company in April as senior vice president, miscellaneous professional liability as Brit builds out the professional liability team, the specialty insurer said Tuesday in a statement.

Mr. Kelly, who joined Brit on May 7, is based in New York and reports to Rich Hartman, senior vice president, construction professional, the statement said. Most recently, he was an executive underwriter with Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. in the construction professional unit.

Mr. Rea, who joined in April, is based in Glastonbury, Connecticut, and reports to Tom Bongi, executive vice president, professional liability for Brit Global Specialty USA, the statement said.

Mr. Rea will focus on writing miscellaneous professional liability for U.S.-domiciled companies through wholesale intermediaries, the statement said. He most recently was vice president, professional liability, for Hiscox USA.
