Aon promotes John English to CEO of captive operations

John English will become the chief executive officer of Aon Captive & Insurance Management, effective June 1.
He is replacing Peter Mullen, Aon P.L.C.’s former captive chief, who left in March to head rival brokerage Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.’s captive operation, Artex Risk Solutions Inc., after seven years heading Aon Captive & Insurance Management.
Mr. English is currently chief operating officer of Aon Captive & Insurance Management and managing director of Aon Captive & Insurance Management EMEA, the broker said in a statement Wednesday. He will continue to be based in London and will report to Rory Moloney, chief executive officer, Aon Global Risk Consulting.
