Connecticut comp commission names new chairman

Stephen M. Morelli was recently named Connecticut Workers’ Compensation Commission chairman, the commission announced Monday.

Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy appointed Mr. Morelli to the position following the retirement of longtime Commissioner John A. Mastropietro, the commission said in a statement.

Mr. Morelli joined the commission as a commissioner in 2012, and during the past six years he has served in the agency’s Hartford, New Britain, Norwich, and Waterbury district offices, according to the statement. He has more than 25 years of experience in employment, general business, personal injury, real estate, and workers’ compensation law, in addition to litigation experience in state and federal courts.
