Alera Group appoints president

Deerfield, Illinois-based Alera Group said Monday it had appointed former Marsh & McClennan executive Jim Blue to the new position of president, effective May 1.
Mr. Blue comes to Alera directly from his former position as CEO of Marsh & McLennan Agency-Northeast, and will work closely with the existing leadership team to focus on revenue growth and integration of new Alera Group firms, the brokerage said in a statement.
In his previous role, Mr. Blue grew a small, local firm into a national hub for his former employer, Alera said, an experience that positions him as a strong leader. He will be based in Boston.
Alera Group, a private-equity-backed firm, was formed in 2016 and has 1,000 employees, 61 locations and 49 firms, according to its website.
