Crane collapse disrupts shipbuilder's operations

A cyclone caused the collapse of a 250-ton goliath crane at India-based Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd.'s shipbuilding yard on April 17 and severely disrupting the firm's operations, Business Standard reported citing sources. The crane's collapse would impact ongoing programs and new contracts that are under negotiation, the sources added. The ship-maker said that alternative arrangements were being worked out to continue with its ship-building activities.
