Axis' cedes 60% more premium to capital partners

Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer Axis Capital Holdings Ltd. ceded $344 million worth of premiums to its "strategic capital partners" in the first quarter, up 60% from $214.5 million in the first quarter of 2017, Artemis.bm reports. The amount of premiums ceded by its unit Axis Re Ventures to insurance-linked securities partners grew 87% year over year to $288.6 million.
