Anguilla takes $326-million hit from hurricane Irma

The United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean said that hurricane Irma last year caused more than $880 million East Caribbean ($326 million) in economic losses in Anguilla, The Daily Herald reported. Victor Banks, chief minister of Anguilla, said that the island received a payout of just XCD 18 million from Cayman Island-based Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility Segregated Portfolio Co.
