BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

CNA Financial CFO Mense to retire, Anderson named successor

D. Craig Mense, executive vice president and chief financial officer of CNA Financial Corp., will retire from the company effective Dec. 31, CNA said Thursday.

James Anderson, senior vice president and head of financial planning and analysis and corporate development, has been named as Mr. Mense’s successor, CNA said in a statement. He will be based in Chicago and report to Chairman and CEO Dino E. Robusto. He joined the insurer in 2012.

Mr. Mense will remain with CNA through his retirement date and will officially transition the CFO role to Mr. Anderson during the third quarter of 2018, according to the statement.

“Craig joined CNA in 2004 and has served as an influential CFO to me and two of my predecessors,” Mr. Robusto said in the statement. “Craig has made countless contributions to the success of CNA, and he will be missed.”

“Having worked closely with James since my arrival, I have every confidence in his leadership and financial capabilities,” Mr. Robusto added.
