Sompo to open Luxembourg unit to access EU post Brexit

Bermuda-based insurer and reinsurer Sompo International Holdings Ltd. plans to set up a new unit in Luxembourg to maintain access to European Union countries post Brexit, The Royal Gazette reported. Sompo International has appointed Takashi Kurumisawa as the unit's chief executive. SI Insurance (Europe) is expected to begin operations this year.
