Magician David Copperfield worried his money will disappear

Despite arguing that revealing the secret to a famous trick of making 13 audience members disappear would be financially detrimental, megastar magician David Copperfield was forced to tell all in front of a judge in a Las Vegas courtroom last week, according to media reports.

A British tourist is suing the illusionist and MGM Grand Las Vegas for negligence after he claimed he was injured after taking part in the “Lucky #13” trick in 2013, according to media reports.

The man said he has suffered chronic pain and brain injury following a fall that dislocated his shoulder and has spent more than $400,000 on medical bills, according to media reports.

The secret? Chaos behind the scenes, according to the suit.

“During the trick plaintiff was injured when he was hurried with no guidance or interaction through a dark area under construction with cement dust and debris, causing him to slip and fall,” the lawsuit said.
