Volume of alternative reinsurance capital rises 10%: Aon Benfield

Analysis by U.K.-based reinsurance broker Aon Benfield Group Ltd. found that the volume of alternative reinsurance capital grew nearly 10% year over year to $89 billion in 2017 despite catastrophe losses, Artemis.bm reports. Traditional capital grew 2% to $516 billion, while global reinsurer market capital increased 2% to $605 billion. Aon Benfield said that the alternative capital market is expected to grow further this year.
