Axis Capital Holdings Ltd. is launching its Axis Cyber Center of Excellence, the insurer and reinsurer said Monday.

The center will focus on global cyber threats and attacks costing companies some $445 billion a year, Bermuda-based Axis said in a statement. It will offer products and services including access to risk assessment modeling tools and internationally recognized and accredited cyber education courses; risk advisory consulting services to help companies prepare for, and respond to, cyber events; access to mentoring, training and education offerings; and cyber risk advisory consulting services.

The center will be led by Dan Trueman, global head of cyber at Axis. Matthew Fosh, Axis’ executive chairman for Europe and former CEO of Novae Group P.L.C., will serve as chairman of the center, providing advisory support, the statement said. Both men are based in London.

Team members are mostly based in London, New York, Chicago and Kansas City, according to the statement.

“Housing our global cyber products and solutions, the Axis Cyber Center of Excellence will leverage the Axis cyber team’s underwriting expertise to help clients more effectively manage the dynamic environment of their cyber risks,” Mr. Trueman said in the statement.

“Through the Axis Cyber Center of Excellence, we are taking a holistic approach to helping our clients and partners solve their existing and emerging cyber risks,” Mr. Fosh said in the statement.
