Firms in Singapore, Australia face highest data breach fines: Study

The study found that Singapore fines $1 million Singapore ($764,500), while Australia imposes fines of up to 1.7 million Australia ($1.3 million). Firms in the Asia Pacific region and Japan face challenges such as ransomware, business disruption and increasing competition from new business models while complying with data regulation, the study added.
