Generali finds ILS terms more competitive than traditional reinsurers
Posted On: Mar. 19, 2018 5:47 AM CSTItaly-based insurer Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A. said that insurance-linked securities offered "more competitive terms" than traditional reinsurers in some cases, Artemis.bm reports. The insurer said that part of the European windstorm exposures have been carved out from the main reinsurance protection and placed in the ILS market. The insurer is likely to increase its use of the ILS market in order to reduce its peak risks and optimize its reinsurance placements.
