Cyber attacks target financial institutions, government websites

Indian government officials said that 40% of cyber attacks and data breaches in the country target financial institution’s and government agency’s websites, The Financial Express reported. "Most of these intrusions are phishing attacks or ransomware or distributed denial of service attacks," a state government official said. Cyber criminals targeted 150 million electronic transactions out of a total 2.3 billion transactions conducted in the country since Jan. 1, an official added.
