Ransomware attacks cost SMEs nearly $100 million
Posted On: Feb. 13, 2018 5:07 AM CSTA report by U.S.-based data backup services firm Datto Inc. found that ransomware attacks cost European small and medium-sized enterprises £71 million ($98.4 million) in downtime, ITProportal.com reported. The report found that a fifth of SMEs decide to pay the ransom. However, 18% of the firms that choose to pay do not get access to their data back. Less than a third of the firms report the attacks to authorities, the report added.
