Hiscox names US chief financial officer

Specialty insurer Hiscox Ltd. on Tuesday said former Fiserv Inc. executive David McLaughlin had been named chief financial officer in the United States.

Mr. McLaughlin, who started in the role last week, replaces former CFO Gavin Watson. Mr. Watson became deputy CFO at Sompo International this past fall, a Sompo representative said.

Mr. McLaughlin is based in Atlanta and will report to U.S. CEO Ben Walter, Bermuda-based Hiscox said in a statement.

Mr. McLaughlin comes to Hiscox from financial services technology company Fiserv, where he held a number of divisional CFO positions, most recently covering its digital banking, financial Institutions and enterprise technology groups.

In a statement, Mr. Walter said Mr. McLaughlin “has a stellar finance and leadership background with experience covering a broad range of industries both within and outside financial services.”
