Greece detains Novartis' local manager over corruption probe

Greek officials have ordered one of Swiss pharmaceuticals firm Novartis A.G.'s local manager not to leave the country pending a bribery prosecution, FiercePharma reported citing media sources. The order came amid allegations that the company bribed doctors and government figures to boost its sales. Greece's Securities and Exchange Commission launched an investigation into Novartis' activities in January 2017 over allegations of more than 4,000 payments to doctors.
