Phishing, ransomware attacks to target company executives
Posted On: Feb. 2, 2018 5:14 AM CSTLaw Chee Wan, manager of technical sales at software firm Trend Micro Malaysia Sdn Bhd, said that company executives will be the most likely targets for phishing emails and ransomware attacks this year, The Malaysian Reserve reported. The attacks are expected to cost companies nearly 35 billion Malaysian ringgit ($9 billion). Mr. Wan said that phishing scams known as business email compromise capture the credentials of executives authorized to make payments and trick the company into paying the ransom.
